FAQ/MYTH BUSTERS

I often get asked a lot of questions here at Body in Motion - Wigan.  Some of the answers might be of interest to others so I've created this FAQ with a view to sharing with our clients.

If you have a question for me, why not get in touch?

Frequently asked questions

When I do leg raises , bicycles kicks or flutter kick on my back I can feel it working my lower abs !!

Sorry “no you can’t”, don’t get me wrong i am not saying you don’t have lower abs , of course you do . However, you cannot train them on their own. Muscles “work” with a very simple rule: all or nothing and by that I mean they are working or not. In these exercises, what you are actually feeling is a muscle behind your abs called your psoas . Theses sort of exercises do not improve your abs lower or otherwise.
